six weeks later!!

Can't believe it will soon be two months since I left Kenya. I really miss all the children and teachers and friends that I made during my three months in the villages around Jolaurabi Schools. Other sponsors have been and gone since I left and I read their posts and look at their pics with envy lol

Maureen and Ian are there just now and took a few little gifts over to some of the teachers for me. I have received texts over the last few days saying a big thanks - for so little - and I know how little they have and their texts mean all the more to me for that reason.

Some news - Omari is getting married in October (picture attached) can't believe he is tying the knot and I won't even be there to dance at his wedding!! I've told him next time I'm back in Kenya we will all get together in the hotel to celebrate his wedding after the event. I know little Hassani will be looking forward to the big day. "Way to go Omar" be happy.

School is back for the 3rd Term now and it will soon be exam time. Nixon (picture added) will also be sitting his final exams, he is 18 in December and I am fairly sure this is his last year. Good luck Nixon, I hope you enjoy using that Scientific Calculator I sent you out with Maureen - you certainly have one over on me there lol

Soon it will be the hot season in Kenya, the rains will be gone for another year (it was still raining when I left and had a little text two weeks ago from Matrine and it was still raining!!!)

And of course Kenya has a new Constitution now which is great news.

What am I up to in Scotland?

I've been back to work since the beginning of August and we are so busy that at times it feels like I've never been away. On the social scene I have two weddings coming up - the son of a friend on 17th September, both Jerry and I are looking forward to attending and then the big one for me this year - my lovely stepdaughter Natalie ties the knot with Tom on Friday 24th September. Jerry is looking forward to playing father of the bride for the second time, kilts ordered, speech written - not!! Jerry is more a 'off the cuff' type of speech maker so looking forward to hearing it! I know Natalie will be a beautiful bride and it will be a day to remember.

Looking forward to 2011 when I can plan another trip to Utange.
